How to Avoid Bad Credit – Throw Away the Credit Card

Ask anyone who has a credit card what their number one fear is and they can tell you… their biggest fear is not having a credit card. I mean these are usually the people who have a huge credit card debt with interest accruing at a huge percentage every month.

If you ask them if they would like to be free from this bondage, to be able to live at a standard that does not give them sleepless nights with repayment stress – they are likely to say yes please Where do I sign Let’s do But if that journey began with their prized possession – cutting cards – you’ll literally hear them gag on their saliva. It gives funds that far exceed the mountain of debt it represents.

I know this because I have been there. It is this fear of ‘not having enough’, of being ‘less’ of ‘something’ that is bought with my card that strikes fear into your heart. And that’s really what the system depends on. Money is given freely, the more you borrow, the more you spend. A cunning but highly lucrative venture (for the lender), but a surefire way to lose everything for the borrower.

The question is, how do you overcome this FEAR? I’d love to say that there’s a support circle you can join that will help you go cold turkey, or a medicine you can take to make your issues go away – but there isn’t – it’s from a wound. It’s like ripping off plaster, you have to rip off the plaster in order for it to heal properly; You have to expose it to air and allow the natural process of regeneration to begin. Yes I know it hurts, yes I know it’s not comfortable – but hey what’s the alternative?… You keep spending money you don’t have; You wake up in a cold sweat; You panic at the sight of a demand letter and you almost faint every time there’s a knock at the front door.

To start the healing process you have to remove the plaster… you have to rip off the plastic. There is a book I read once and the title has served me well on many occasions – Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. There is going to come a time when you have to make the decision to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’ and move towards financial freedom.

Will you decide today that you and your family will be given the chance to develop the courage, will power and resilience to live a debt free life?
